Aalborg’s history dates all the way back to the 11th century. Even back then, the city had a quite important position thanks to the extensive herring fishing industry. With its 160,000 inhabitants, the city is considered to be the capital of Northern Jutland and without comparison it can be described as "Denmark’s most bubbling provincial city" with a number of restaurants and places of entertainment. Though, it is not only on "The Wild Side" the city is remarkable. You will also find a number of historical buildings and other cultural objects of interest, plus a richly flowering theatre life, which deserves your attention. There is definitely something for every taste. |
